Goat’s Milk Soap

Making soap is a long process. No matter what specific process you use. Our process is even a bit longer because we don’t outsource our milk. All of our milk is sourced in-house. Meaning, we milk our own goats. We don’t buy the milk at the store. It comes from our own back yard.

There are many benefits in using goats milk in soap. It comes to the simple differences between goat’s milk and cow’s milk. Goat’s milk typically has a higher butterfat content, more and different minerals and vitamins.

Once you have developed and tweaked your recipe, mix the ingredients, put the soap into molds, the wait begins. The soap has to “cure”. This curing time can be anywhere from 24 hours (to be able to remove the soap from the mold) all the way up to around 6 weeks before it is ready to use ! Most things on a farm are neither simple nor quick. Soap is no exception.
